Ultrathin 2D Co0.85Se nanosheets have been successfully designed and synthesized via a simple solvothermal method. For the first time, the as-prepared Co0.85Se was applied to be an efficient heterogeneous cocatalyst for photocatalytic CO2 reduction under visible light irradiation. Under the optimal reaction conditions, the photocatalytic CO2 reduction system achieved a superior catalytic performance with a CO generation rate of 24.6 μmol/h.

Ultrathin Co
2:85Se nanosheets were fabricated by a simple solvothermal method. Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Co(AC)2 and Na2SeO3 were used as precursors.

Te?on-lined autoclave, Bruker D8 Advance X-ray diffractometer, Nova NanoSEM 230 microscopy, JEOL JEM 2010 F microscope, DI Innova Multimode SPM platform, Varian Cary 500 Scan UV–vis-NIR spectrophotometer, Edinburgh FL/FS900 spectrophotometer, ESCALAB 250 photoelectron spectroscope system, ASAP2020 M apparatus.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The homogeneous solution was transferred into a 100 mL Te?on-lined autoclave, which was sealed and maintained at 180 °C for 12 h and then cooled to room temperature naturally. The resulting solid product was collected and washed with deionized water and absolute ethanol repeatedly.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The produced gases were analyzed by a gas chromatography (Agilent 6890 N).
