研究目的
Investigating the effect of PTFE addition and re-annealing treatment on the thermoluminescence response of CaSO4:Dy prepared by co-precipitation method.
研究成果
Re-annealing treatment can increase the response of TLD material, especially after PTFE addition. The thermoluminescence response of CaSO4:Dy after re-annealing at 700 C was increased, and with additional of PTFE, the TL response was increased without PTFE after re-annealing.
研究不足
The study does not deeply investigate the unknown peak appeared around 28o in XRD result, which might be due to change of CaSO4:Dy crystal structure during re-annealing process or the presence of remained PTFE component after re-annealing process.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
CaSO4:Dy was prepared by a co-precipitation method with dysprosium (Dy) as a dopant. PTFE was added before re-annealing treatment at a fixed mass ratio (CaSO4:Dy/PTFE = 2:3). The re-annealing treatments were done at 700 C for 1 hr.
2:3). The re-annealing treatments were done at 700 C for 1 hr. Sample Selection and Data Sources:
2. Sample Selection and Data Sources: Calcium acetate was dissolved in double distilled water and mixed with dysprosium sulphate and sulfuric ammonium in the presence of ethanol.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR, Omron Bucker Alpha FTIR spectrometer), X-Ray diffractometer (XRD, Philip Analytical PW 1710 BASED), Harshaw 3500 TLD Reader.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The precipitate was washed and dried in an oven for 4 hrs, then annealed at a fixed temperature for 1 hr in a furnace. The composite samples were re-annealed at 700 C for 1 hr.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The average crystal size of samples was determined by using Scherer’s formula based on XRD result.
