GdVO4 was proved to be the best host for Eu3+ ions over NaGd(WO4)2, NaGd(MoO4)2 and LaVO4 materials. The study demonstrates a synthetic route to attain a transparent white light emitting coating based on a layered phosphor structure with high efficiency and dynamic chromatic tuning of the photoluminescence.

1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The study involves a synthetic route to attain scattering free films made of RE activated NaGd(WO4)2, NaGd(MoO4)2, LaVO4, and GdVO4 nanophosphors and performs a systematic evaluation of their performance on the basis of their QY.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Nanophosphors employed in the investigation are synthesized following a solvothermal route and polyacrylic acid as functionalization agent.

Includes gadolinium(III) nitrate hexahydrate, lanthanum(III) nitrate hydrate, europium(III) nitrate pentahydrate, dysprosium(III) nitrate hydrate, sodium orthovanadate, sodium tungstate dihydrate, sodium molybdate, sodium citrate, PAA, ethylene glycol, zirconium(IV) n-propoxide, triblock copolymers Pluronic F127, 2,4-Pentanedione, absolute ethanol, methanol, HCl, and MilliQ water.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Nanophosphor layers were deposited by spin-coating and annealed at 800 °C for 4 hours.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The crystalline structure of as-prepared nanophosphors was investigated by XRD. The excitation and emission spectra as well as the lifetime of these samples were measured with the Edinburgh Instruments (FLS1000).
