1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The experiment is designed to study supercontinuum generation using a picosecond pulse pump and a weak continuous-wave seed in a highly nonlinear dispersion-shifted fiber. The generalized nonlinear Schr?dinger equation is used for numerical simulation.

4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The pump pulse and CW seed are combined and launched into the fiber. Output spectra and power are measured with varying CW wavelengths and powers.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
Spectra are analyzed using the optical spectrum analyzer, and numerical simulations are performed based on the GNLSE.
