Finger skin super-resolved imaging based on extracting polarized light field
摘要: We present the design and the experimental implementation of extracting polarized light field, able to obtain super-resolved images of an object, where the finger skin is applied. The proposed device is based on a microscopic light path and through modulating the illumination polarized, while measuring localized field variation. Therefore, a hypothetical model with the device composed of polarizers and wave plates is provided to inversely calculate scattered polarization status from objects and further to extract the effects of sample under measurement on polarization parameters. Finally, compared with the direct microscopic polarization imaging, (which can collect spatial frequencies as 2 times as conventional microscope), the higher super-resolution images of finger skin from this approach can be achieved and the results indicate this super-resolved technique is interesting for imaging in biomedical applications.

Solar Blind UV Light Induced Photo‐Voltage from Transparent Y <sub/>2</sub> O <sub/>3</sub> : Eu‐PMMA Nanocomposite Film
摘要: Transparent inorganic-organic nanocomposite film (Y2O3: Eu-PMMA)W is fabricated for solar blind UV light photo-voltage response at room temperature. In suggested design, Y2O3: Eu nanoparticales with efficient visible luminescence excited under solar blind UV light is incorporated into an Y2O3: Eu-PMMA nanocomposite film coated onto a glass substrate, which converts solar blind UV light to visible light that is absorbed by the Si-detector. Photo-voltage response from the thin film Si-APD detector attached with the inorganic-organic nanocomposite film demonstrates a prospective application for solar blind UV light detection.

Highly parallel steered mixture-of-experts rendering at pixel-level for image and light field data
摘要: A novel image approximation framework called steered mixture-of-experts (SMoE) was recently presented. SMoE has multiple applications in coding, scale-conversion, and general processing of image modalities. In particular, it has strong potential for coding and streaming higher dimensional image modalities that are necessary to leverage full translational and rotational freedom (6 degrees-of-freedom) in virtual reality for camera captured images. In this paper, we analyze the rendering performance of SMoE for 2D images and 4D light fields. Two different GPU implementations that parallelize the SMoE regression step at pixel-level are presented, including experimental evaluations based on rendering performance and quality. In this paper it is shown that on appropriate hardware, an OpenCL implementation can achieve 85 fps and 22 fps for, respectively, 1080p and 4K renderings of large models with more than 100,000 of Gaussian kernels.

[Advances In Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics] Volume 67 || Radio-Frequency Spectroscopy as a Tool for Studying Coherent Spin Dynamics and for Application to Radio-Frequency Magnetometry
摘要: The technique of radio-frequency spectroscopy was introduced more than 50 years ago, but is continuing to evolve and is being used as an ever-more versatile tool. We describe the underlying processes that govern the various contributions to the spectroscopic signals, considering the atom-light couplings. We then apply this understanding to demonstrate how the coherent dynamics can be manipulated with different configurations of optical pumping. Finally, we discuss how to implement rf spectroscopy to give optimized sensitivity in atomic magnetometers.

Preparation of size-controlled silver phosphate catalysts and their enhanced photocatalysis performance via synergetic effect with MWCNTs and PANI
摘要: In this work, novel photocatalysts Ag3PO4@MWCNTs@PANI with excellent visible light photocatalytic performance and photostability were successfully prepared by a facile in-situ precipitation method. The optimal catalyst Ag3PO4@0.1%MWCNTs@3%PANI showed the highest photocatalytic performance for degradation of phenol and p-nitrophenol, the apparent rate constant of which was 21.9 and 10 times than that of the pure Ag3PO4, respectively. Interestingly, the Ag3PO4 exhibited significant changes in particle size, which changed from 10-20 μm for pure Ag3PO4 particles into 0.38-1.0 μm and 0.15-0.38 μm with the addition of MWCNTs and PANI, respectively. In presence of MWCNTs, similar phenomena have been reported in our previous studies, while the ability of PANI dissolved in the presence of DMF solvent to control the size of Ag3PO4 crystal was reported for the first time. The dramatic enhancement of photocatalytic activity and photostability could be attributed to the synergetic effect between MWCNTs and PANI on Ag3PO4. The MWCNTs penetrating in the bulk phase of Ag3PO4 could serve as conductors of photogenerated electrons and rapidly migrated electrons to the surface of the photocatalysts. Meanwhile, photogenerated holes in the valence band of Ag3PO4 were transferred to the photocatalysts surface through HOMO of PANI. Consequently, high separation efficiency of electron-hole pairs was successfully achieved. A novel design and preparation strategy for photocatalyst was proposed to simultaneously achieve the small size control of catalyst crystal and improve the photocatalytic performance of catalyst by adding MWCNT and PANI.

Review on multi gas detector using infrared spectral absorption technology
摘要: To provide some references for researchers engaged in infrared multi gas detection, this study introduced the infrared multi gas detection system thoroughly from infrared light source, infrared detector, optical multiplexing structure, and detection method. Currently, the coherent source represented by quantum cascade laser has replaced the traditional incoherent source like thermal radiant infrared light source and became the dominant light source in infrared multi gas detection. Accordingly, the infrared photodetector is widely used. The optical multiplexing structure based on the “multiplexing thought” is the core of infrared multi gas detection system. It mainly includes the single-source multiplex detection structure and multi-source multiplexing detection structure. Nondispersive infrared spectroscopy, long optical distance spectroscopy, wavelength/frequency modulation spectroscopy, cavity enhancement spectroscopy, and photoacoustic spectroscopy are major detection methods used in the infrared multi gas detection. This has important significance to many fields, such as industrial and agriculture production, environmental monitoring, life science, etc.

Image Judgment Auxiliary System for Table Tennis Umpiring under Low Light Conditions
摘要: In table tennis competitions, the rule violation judgment with the greatest controversy is the height of the ball serve. This is because inaccuracy in the ball height judgment, which results in erroneous judgment, is unavoidable. Thus, we designed an automatic image judgment auxiliary system for table tennis ball height during service in this study. We used a high-speed camera to record the ball toss in the table tennis service. The designed algorithm architecture can automatically search for the ball and the position of the hand action under low light source conditions. It is often di?cult to provide enough light when using high-speed photography and this leads to underexposure. The algorithm is mainly divided into hue-saturation-value color space processing and morphology processing using Hough transform to search for the circular ball. Experiment result shows that color segmentation can successfully and accurately determine the ball position under low light conditions. The morphology method can ?nd the position of the hand and help determine the moment when the ball leaves the hand during the service ball toss. Finally, the actual size of the target is used to estimate the actual distance unit represented by the image pixel.

Effects of n-butyl amine incorporation on the performance of perovskite light emitting diodes
摘要: The efficiency of perovskite light emitting diodes (PeLEDs) is crucially limited by leakage current and nonradiative recombination. Here we introduce n-butyl amine (BA) to modulate the growth of perovskite films as well as improve the performance of PeLEDs, and investigate in details the effects of BA incorporation on the structural, optical, and electrical characteristics of perovskite films. The results indicate that BA would terminate the grain surface and inhibit crystal growth, leading to increased radiative recombination. However, BA overload would make the films loose and recreate shunt paths. The electrical detriment of BA overload outweighs its optical benefit. As a result, optimal PeLEDs can be obtained only with moderate BA incorporation.

Review on Li-Fi: an advancement in wireless network communication with the application of solar power
摘要: Light Fidelity, commonly referred to as Li-Fi is a technology that was introduced by a German physicist called Herald Hass. This technology in its own uniqueness considers the use of light (Light Emitting Diode, LED to be specific) as its medium of delivering high speed communication that complies with standard IEEE 802.15.7 bidirectional communication standard. This optical means of communications is also known as visible light communication. It is safer when compared with Wi-Fi network. This paper will focus on Li-Fi applications, comparison with existing technologies like Wi-Fi and the inclusion of an alternative source of power i.e., solar power, as a means of effectively optimizing on the availability and accessibility of the benefits in places where erratic or total power outage is a common trend.

摘要: We introduce a set of techniques for selective amplification of video subjects that are largely hidden from view by confounding light paths, such as daylight reflections from tinted automobile windows, reflections from windows and screens when imaging outdoor scenes at night from indoors, and reflected light from fluid surfaces. In these situations, the subject of interest is represented by only a small fraction of the light being captured at each pixel. We show that enhancement approaches commonly employed for selective amplification of speech in audio applications can serve as the basis for selective amplification of hidden objects in video streams.
