  • Structural characterization of Nd-Fe <sub/>3</sub> O <sub/>4</sub> nanoparticles prepared by hydrothermal synthesis method

    摘要: Magnetic nanoparticles of Nd-Fe3O4 were prepared by hydrothermal synthesis method, using NdCl3·6H2O and FeCl3·6H2O as the starting materials in this paper. The structure and morphology of nanoparticles were investigated by XRD, FTIR, EDS and TEM. The results showed that, while the addition of Nd at 10% in mole ratio, resulted in the formation of Nd2O3 crystal peak in cubic Fe3O4 nanocrystallites by XRD. The absorption bands of Fe–O, –OH, –O–C–O– and –CH2– were accordant to the correspondent chemical groups by FTIR. The morphology of the prepared nanoparticles exhibited spherical structure and evenly distributed without agglomeration phenomenon by TEM. The elemental composition were mainly consistent with the precursor materials used in the experiment.

  • Nitrogen dopedTiO2photoactive in visible light

    摘要: In this research TiO2 modified with nitrogen has been prepared. The synthesis method used was sol gel from the hydrolysis of titanium tetrabutoxide with urea solution, combined with a low temperature treatment at atmospheric pressure. The theoretical mole ratio N/Ti was equal to 0.5 and the theoretical mole ratio HNO3/TiO2 was equal to 0.5. The solid obtained was calcined at different temperatures in static air with high heating rate and residence time of 1 hour. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, FTIR Raman and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, thermodifferential and thermogravimetric analysis and specific surface area. All calcined solids exhibit absorption in the visible range. The Raman spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction revealed for all the heat treatments, the presence of crystalline phases corresponding to anatase and brookite polymorphism. The photocatalytic activity of the catalysts was tested in degradation of an artificial dye under visible light, yielding the best results for the sample treated at 250°C. Our results allow to say that this behaviour is due to the absorption of visible light, good efficiency for the adsorption of the dye and presence of two crystalline phases that decreases the recombination of photogenerated electrons and holes. The synthesis technique used allows obtaining solids with textural and attractive photocatalytic properties.

  • Characterization of CMP Slurries Using Densitometry and Refractive Index Measurements

    摘要: We investigated the possibility of employing refractive index (RI) measurements for inline incoming slurry control at the point of use (POU), as an alternative to the widespread densitometry method. As such, it became necessary to determine if RI could detect smaller changes in slurry composition and, therefore, provide a tighter control. Three industrially-relevant silica-based slurries, namely, Fujimi PL-7106, Klebosol 1501-50, and CMC W7801, were characterized using both densitometry and RI measurements. Initial solutions of the three slurries were prepared and increasingly small amounts of ultrapurified water (UPW) were added to study the change in slurry properties. Results showed that both density and RI decreased linearly with the addition of water for all three slurries, with the 1501-50 being the most sensitive to water addition. A linear correlation between the two properties was found, with R2 values that exceeded 0.95 in all cases. Furthermore, the approximate limit of detection of both metrology tools was estimated based on the slope of the fitting line and resolution. When compared to densitometry, RI was found to be the far superior method for detecting smaller changes in water concentration.

  • Transmission Electron Microscopy of Halide Perovskite Materials and Devices

    摘要: Transmission electron microscopy (TEM)-based techniques are uniquely suited for site-specific structural and analytical characterization of halide perovskites (HPs) at atomic, nanometer, and micrometer length scales. TEM-based studies hold the key to understanding the nature and functionality of these fascinating materials that are at the heart of emerging solar cells and (opto)electronic devices. While TEM-based techniques have made several groundbreaking discoveries that have resulted in astonishing advancements in the field of materials science in general over the past decades, their application to HPs has been relatively sparse. Here, we provide a perspective on TEM-based studies of HPs that have been conducted so far and project a vision for how these powerful characterization techniques can be brought to bear on research problems in the field of HPs. An outlook discussing important challenges and opportunities that lay ahead is also presented.

  • A novel dicationic Quinoline-Carzole fluorescent probe:Preparation and labeling of <i>Microthrix parvicella</i>

    摘要: A novel dicationic Quinoline-Carbazole fluorescent probe with hydrophobic long-chain alkane was designed and synthesized based on the property of Microthrix parvicella (M. parvicella) in situ utilizing long-chain fatty acids (LCFA) in the activated sludge system. 1H NMR spectrum, ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) absorption spectra, and fluorescent spectra analysis demonstrated that the probe was successfully obtained. The probe had a large stokes-shift ranging from 102 to 144nm in different solvents, which were benefit for the fluorescent labeling properties. The labeling experiment indicated that the prepared probe could absorb onto the surface of M. parvicella through hydrophobic bond. Much stronger yellow fluorescence of M. parvicella was observed at the concentration of 1.0×10-5mol/L when compared with the zooglea, which makes it easy to distinguish M. parvicella from the zooglea. In addition, the photostability of the probe was also investigated, and the result showed that the probe was quite stable in a long period of time. All the results indicated that the prepared probe was suitable for the labeling of M. parvicella.

    摘要: In this work, a 2.5 kV discrete SiC MOSFET manufactured by GE with a 58 A current rating and a 40 m? on-resistance is characterized, both statically and dynamically. The high current capabilities within a discrete package at 2.5 kV MOSFET offers improved performance differentiation when compared to both traditional 1.7 kV discrete devices and 3.3 kV power modules. This device is characterized statically, dynamically and under increased temperature conditions up to 200oC. A clamped, inductive test circuit is used to conduct the double pulse tests necessary to determine the switching energy losses. These measurements are compared to a commercially available SiC MOSFET that is similarly rated.

  • Gas sensing performance of GaOOH and β-Ga<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> synthesized by Hydrothermal method: A comparison

    摘要: Gallium Oxy Hydrate (GaOOH) and β-Ga2O3 nanostructures in submicron scale have been synthesized at low temperature by surfactant-free hydro-thermal method. First, GaOOH has been synthesized using Gallium nitrate anhydrate, Ammonium hydroxide as precursors and double distilled water as solvent. As obtained GaOOH powders have been characterized by XRD, FE–SEM, UV–VIS, Thermo Gravimetric Analysis, I-V characteristics and BET surface analysis in order to reveal their structural, morphological, optical, thermal, electrical and surface properties. FE-SEM micrographs confirm the rod like and needle like morphologies of GaOOH and β- Ga2O3 samples, respectively. Porous nature of the samples observed through BET and BJH analyses. Synthesized GaOOH and β-Ga2O3 powders have been subjected to room temperature CO2 gas sensing in the range, 2000 ppm – 10000 ppm. GaOOH showed quick response of 80 s and fast recovery of 129 s at 8000 ppm while β-Ga2O3 showed quick response of 52 s at 8000 ppm and faster recovery of 98 s at 4000 ppm. Also, the repeatability studies were done for GaOOH and β-Ga2O3 films by exposing to different CO2 concentrations for a period of 6 consecutive days. β-Ga2O3 showed enhanced CO2 sensing response than that of GaOOH due to its better structural, electrical, morphological and surface properties.

  • Raman spectroscopy combined with advanced chemometric methods: A new approach for detergent deformulation

    摘要: Deformulation of a commercial surfactant mixture using RAMAN spectroscopy and advanced chemometric tools have been investigated. Since the use of surfactants is drastically expanding, their fine identification and quantification are required for quality control and regulation. Dilution of the detergent mixtures combined with RAMAN spectroscopy for signal extraction tools allowed the extraction of the first information concerning the composition of the mixture. The raw materials identified were thus used in an experimental design to obtain a robust model for the determination of detergent composition. The combination of chemometric tools (Independent Component Analysis and Partial Least Square) and spectroscopic methods provided pertinent information for detergent composition. This methodology can easily be transposed to the industrial world.

    摘要: Phosphorus-doped NCD films were grown on n-type silicon substrate by plasma-enhanced CVD with H2, CH4, and PH3 gas mixture for cold cathode application. The structure properties were characterized by Raman spectroscopy with a green laser of 532 nm at room temperature, scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscope, and electron energy-less spectroscopy. Grown films show a good conductivity and have a typical structure with a combination of sp3 diamond gains with size around 20-100 nm and sp2 grain boundaries. The electron emission properties were characterized as comparing with single crystal, NCD film, and tip-array NCD. The tip-array NCD shows good emission properties with lower threshold electric filed and higher saturation current.
