Effect of doping Gd2O3 on dielectric and piezoelectric properties of BaZr0.1Ti0.9O3 ceramics by sol–gel method
摘要: The effects of sintering temperature and doping amount of gadolinium ions on the microstructures and electrical properties of sol gel derived Ba (Zr0.1Ti0.9) O3 + xGd ceramics were investigated in this manuscript. XRD analysis showed that the main crystalline phase of BZT-xGd ceramic samples exhibit a perovskite structure without significantly change. The sample sintered at 1350 °C and doped with gadolinium ions of 0.5 mol% has uniform grain size and compact morphology. And the sample(1350 °C—0.5 mol%) also has a high piezoelectric charge coefficient of 131.33 pC/N, large plane electromechanical coupling coefficient of 0.22, high dielectric constant of 10504, and small dielectric loss of 0.01. The correlation of dielectric and piezoelectric properties of BZT-xGd ceramics with doping amount of Gd3+ ion has been explained by the lattice theory.

Flexible photochromic cellulose triacetate based bionanocomposites modified with sol-gel synthesized V2O5 nanoparticles
摘要: Transparent and flexible bionanocomposites with photochromic properties based on cellulose triacetate (CTA) and sol-gel synthesized V2O5 nanoparticles were prepared. Poly(ethylene oxide-b-propylene oxide-b-ethylene oxide) (EPE) triblock copolymer was added to achieve nanostructured materials and simultaneously control the dispersion of synthesized V2O5 nanoparticles. Investigated bionanocomposites were characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), atomic force microscopy (AFM), tensile tests, and UV-Vis spectroscopy. FTIR results confirmed the presence of hydrogen bonds in the bionanocomposites. The miscibility between components improved with the increase of sol-gel content resulting in a decrease of the Tg and Tm of CTA phase as indicated by DSC results. Addition of EPE triblock copolymer enhanced the photochromic properties of bionanocomposites reducing the time of recovery to the initial state after 5 min of UV light irradiation. The biocompatibility of pure CTA and EPE/CTA blends as well as the photochromic properties provided by synthesized V2O5 nanoparticles make their transparent and flexible bionanocomposites ideal for possible future applications.

A hydrophobic ultralow refractive-index silica coating towards double-layer broadband antireflective coating with exceptionally high vacuum stability and laser-induced damage threshold
摘要: We report the fabrication of nanoporous silica coatings with tunable refractive indices by a one-step base-catalyzed sol-gel process using tetraethoxysilane as the precursor, hexamethylisilazane as the modifier at ambient conditions. The advantages of the present method are inexpensive, etchant-free and without high temperature calcination treatment. Importantly, porosity of the coatings can be tunable by changing the monomer ratio of the starting solution, which makes them suitable for top layer of broadband AR coatings. The tri-wavelength broadband AR coating with the refractive indices of the bottom and top layers as 1.27 and 1.16 was achieved on a fused silica substrate, which possessed high transmittance of 99.6%, 98.0% and 99.3% at 351 nm, 527 nm and 1053 nm, respectively. Moreover, the double-layer coating showed significant stability, when tested with polydimethylsiloxane pollution in vacuum for a week. In addition, LIDT of the double-layer coating was up to ca. 19.0 J cm?2 at a 6.3 ns laser pulse of 351 nm wavelength. This double-layer AR coating possesses excellent broadband AR performance, high LIDT, and excellent vacuum stability, which can open a new avenue to explore applications in high-power laser systems.

Preparation and characterization of a novel nanocomposite coating based on sol-gel titania/hydroxyapatite for solid-phase microextraction
摘要: In this work a novel nanocomposite coating with high thermal stability and high durability is prepared. The surface of the stainless steel as a support was initially modified by (3–mercaptopropyl)trimethoxysilane. Surface characteristics of pure titania (TiO2), pure hydroxyapatite (HAP) and Hap/TiO2 nanocomposite coating were investigated and compared by energy dispersive X–ray (EDX) spectroscopy as well as by field emission–scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). The mutual effects of components on each other were discussed. Addition of HAP sol to the pure TiO2 sol, considerably changes the coating morphology. The applicability of the sol–gel HAP/TiO2 fiber was assessed for the headspace solid–phase microextraction (HS–SPME) of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEXs) from water sample followed by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS). Important parameters affecting the extraction efficiency were investigated. The efficiency of HAP/TiO2 nanocomposite coating was compared with other reported fibers and showed very good results. Under optimal conditions, the detection limits (S/N = 3) were in the range of 0.04 to 1 μg L?1, and the limits of quantification (S/N = 10) were between 0.1 and 4 μg L?1. The relative standard deviations (RSDs) for each fiber (at 20 μg L?1 and n = 5) were in the range of 1.76 to 8.18%, while the RSDs between fibers were 3.03 to 10.02%. The method showed a large linearity in the range from 0.1 to 1000 μg L?1 with correlation coefficients of > 0.995.

摘要: This article describes the fabrication and characterization of aluminium interdigitated electrode hybrid with ZnO for cardiac troponin T biomarker detection. The device was modified with one type of probe for the detection of cardiac troponin T (cTnT) biomarker. The fabrication process involved the deposition of ZnO thin film on the aluminium interdigitated electrode (Al IDE) using sol-gel method. The device was then characterized using scanning electron microscope (SEM), atomic force microscope (AFM), and 3D surface (Nano) profilometer. The electrical characterization was performed using current-voltage (I-V) measurement. The results showed that the device was able to detect cTnT biomarker with high sensitivity and selectivity.

Study of Pb(Zr <sub/>0.52</sub> Ti <sub/>0.48</sub> )O <sub/>3</sub><scp>MEMS</scp> Piezoelectric Accelerometers for Health Monitoring of Mechanical Motors
摘要: In this study, piezoelectric (PZT) thick films were fabricated on Pt-coated Si substrates by a modified sol-gel method via dispersing the piezoelectric submicron powders of composition (Pb, Sr)Lax(Ti, Zr)1-1/4xO3 (PZT-5A, having a high d33 value of 520 and a high kp value of 0.64) in the PZT sol-gel solution. Then, piezoelectric microelectromechanical system (MEMS) accelerometers were designed and fabricated on Si substrates via micromachining techniques. A mathematic approximation model was firstly proposed. It used an effective thickness of Si membrane to replace the thickness of Si membrane, derived by math theory. The resonant frequency using the mathematic approximation model would be closer to the values of the experimental data than using the original math theory. Finally, the self-made thick film accelerometers with best properties were fabricated via a modified sol-gel method. They had voltage sensitivities in the range of 2.21~2.14mV/g, which is pretty high compared with the reported data, and the resonant frequency is in the range of 6.5~7.1 kHz. In addition, the accelerometers with amplifier circuit and power source were practically used in vibration detection of health monitoring of mechanical motors.

Effect of Tin and Strontium Doping on the Photocatalytic Activity of Zinc Sulphide Nanoparticles for the Photocatalytic Degradation of Resorcinol under Solar and Ultra-Violet Light
摘要: Tin (Sn) and Strontium (Sr) doped Zinc Sulphide and pure Zinc Sulphide photocatalyst have been prepared by Sol-Gel method. The prepared photocatalyst have been characterised by Thermo gravimetric Differential Thermal Analysis, Scanning Electron Microscopy, Energy Dispersive X-ray, X-Ray Diffraction, ultra-violet visible spectroscopy and photoluminescence spectroscopy. Characterization Techniques have provided information of wurtzite hexagonal structure of Zinc Sulphide. The PL spectra have shown the blue shift of Zinc Sulphide after doping it with Tin and Strontium. Photocatalytic degradation study was done by the complete degradation of an organic pollutant Resorcinol in Sun light as well as in UV-light. The factors affecting the photocatalytic activity of photocatalyst viz. pH, catalyst loading and reuse of photocatalyst have been studied along with the photocatalytic degradation of Resorcinol. These external parameters have considerable influenced on the phtocatalytic activity of Zinc Sulphide.

PH SENSITIVITY DEPENDENCY ON THE ANNEALING TEMPERATURE OF SPIN-COATED TITANIUM DIOXIDE THIN FILMS
摘要: Titanium dioxide (TiO2) thin films were fabricated on indium tin oxide (ITO) glass substrates using the spin coating technique and further were implemented as sensing membranes of the extended gate field effect transistor (EGFET) based pH sensor. The as-deposited thin films were annealed at different temperatures from 200 - 600 °C in room ambient for 20 min. The effects of different annealing temperatures on electrical and crystalline properties were analyzed by I-V two point probes measurement and X-ray diffraction respectively. Meanwhile, the surface morphology of thin films was observed by field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM). We then measured the transfer characteristics (ID-VG) of the TiO2/ITO sensing membrane using a semiconductor parametric device analyzer for sensor characterization. It was found that, TiO2/ITO sensing membrane annealed at 300 °C achieved higher sensitivity and good linearity of 51.48 mV/pH and 0.99415, respectively in the pH buffer solutions of 4, 7, 10, and 12. Thin film annealed at 300 °C gives higher conductivity thin film of 384.62 S/m. We found that the conductivity of TiO2/ITO thin films was proportional with the sensitivity of sensing membrane.

Structural, optical, and dielectric studies of LaFe1?xMoxO3 (x?=?0.0, 0.5) perovskite materials
摘要: The structural, optical, and dielectric properties of LaFe1?xMoxO3 (x = 0.0, 0.5) synthesized by the sol–gel method were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman scattering, and impedance spectroscopy. XRD analysis revealed that the x = 0.5 compound is single-phase and orthorhombic, with space group Pbnm, similar to the parent x = 0.0 compound but with larger lattice parameters and/or a larger unit-cell volume. The Raman scattering spectra revealed local lattice distortions in the x = 0.5 compound and spin–phonon coupling related to the magnetic transition (Néel) temperature. The impedance data were well fitted with an R(R1-CPE1)//(R2-CPE2) equivalent electrical circuit, demonstrating the contributions of both grains and grain boundaries. The temperature (300–500 K) and frequency (100 Hz–1 MHz) dependences of the dielectric properties showed that Mo substitution adversely affected the dielectric parameters.
