    摘要: Taking mining fleet constituted by a shearer, hydraulic supports and a scraper conveyor as the object, the mining fleet needs to move to the intended position in accordance with the functional requirements, such as machinery tracking of hydraulic supports and memory cutting of the shearer. This paper proposes a shearer wireless positioning method under the conditions of inaccurate anchor nodes. First, action rules for hydraulic supports and an adaptive height adjustment strategy for the shearer are arranged based on analyzing the cooperative movement of mining fleet. Second, the duality mapping between local strong signal sets and positioning spatial domain is revealed, and inaccurate anchor nodes can be refined using the memory cutting and motion constraints of mining fleet. Third, an extended Cramer–Rao lower bound is derived to seek the inherent relationships among shearer positioning accuracy, multi-source errors, and coordinate errors of anchor nodes. Finally, comprehensive experiments for the analytical accuracy assessment and node configuration of shearer positioning are achieved with the support of memory cutting technology. Research results indicate that the proposed shearer positioning can satisfy the requirements of mining fleet, which can provide the theoretical basis for the collaborative automation of mining fleet on fully mechanized mining face.

    摘要: The vulnerability of software and the Internet and the accumulation of unprocessed information in big data are serious problems in informatics. Both are human-related. The former was traced to flaws caused by human interventions in development. In the latter case, humans also intervene to connect the dots, find meaningful patterns, and make sense of the information. The proposed solutions are based on more human interventions, which tend to aggravate the problems rather than solving them. I propose the complete elimination of human interventions in both cases. This goal is conceptually easy to achieve. The approach, however, is radical and theoretical. It considers the causal set, a mathematical object, as the universal language underlying all information in nature and, hence, also all computation. This assumption is recognized as the fundamental principle of causality, that effects follow their causes. The new theory is based solely on the causal set, its metric, and its vast array of algebraic properties. The consequences are unexpected, fascinating, and totally new. Since translations between causal sets and programming languages are easy, I also propose to confine the use of programming languages to the human interface, and create an inner layer of mathematical code expressed as a causal set. Machines talk only to mathematically verified, bug-free, secure code. Included in this paper are experimental and computational verifications of the theory, proposed applications to Internet vulnerability, science and technology, machine learning, computer intelligence, and details for building a first prototype.

  • Analysis of Seasonal Aspects of Nebulosity on the Project of Fixed Photovoltaic Installations at the City of Bel??m, Brazil

    摘要: In this paper, we adopt the coded aperture technique to the alignment process for industrial machinery. As a special setting for assembly and inspection, such machinery uses an illumination of narrow wavelength range for imaging with less aberration. This leads to significant influence of light diffraction on the image restoration. Although the diffraction was treated as negligible in most previous studies of coded aperture since they were carried out for natural images, the aperture patterns of them do not achieve enough accuracy for the alignment. We optimize the aperture pattern by performing a simulation of light diffraction, and we experimentally show that it achieves better performance in the alignment.

    摘要: In the last several years, laser based material processing has established itself in many industrial branches as an economical manufacturing process. Laser remote cutting in particular is widespread in the automotive sector. In order to take full advantage of laser remote cutting, it is necessary to position the laser beam precisely on the workpiece using a handling kinematic system. Therefore, this work focuses on the combination of standard industrial robots with laser scanner optics. To address this configuration, this paper proposes a method for the calibration of the parameters, which describe the precise position of the 3D laser scanner optics in respect to the robot. Moreover, the robot introduces a new source of deviation, which is then compensated by using an external measuring system to guide the scanner optics during processing.

    摘要: The Electroluminescence technique (ELIT) is used to characterize the spatial uniformity of the series resistance of a solar cell. When current is applied across the metal contacts, a solar cell operates analogously to LED. The image of the illuminated solar cell is captured via a Pentax K100D camera and sent wirelessly using a Wi-Fi SD card to a local computer. The captured image is displayed on the computer terminal, then the image is used for the qualitative evaluation of the series resistance is then obtained by the image processing tools in MATLAB for it to be displayed on the GUI. The primary advantages of the system are its low cost, automation, and simplicity. This EL system aims to measure within 5 percent accuracy of an I-V testing device at a fraction of the cost.

  • Design Different: Pen and Paper for Laser Cutting

    摘要: This paper explains the importance of accessing modern smart homes over the Internet, and highlights various security issues associated with it. This paper explains the evolution of device fingerprinting concept over time, and discusses various pitfalls in existing device fingerprinting approaches. In this paper, we propose a two-stage verification process for smart homes, using device fingerprints and login credentials, which verifies the user device as well as the user accessing the home over the Internet. Unlike any other previous approaches, our Device Fingerprinting algorithm considers a device’s geographical location while computing its fingerprint. In our device identification experiment, we were able to successfully identify 97.93% of the devices that visited our Webpage using JavaScript, Flash, and Geolocation.

  • A hybrid deep learning architecture for classification of microscopic damage on National Ignition Facility laser optics

    摘要: Accurately classifying microscopic damage helps automate the repair and recycling of National Ignition Facility optics and informs the study of damage initiation and growth. This complex 12-class problem previously required human experts to distinguish and label the various damage morphologies. Finding image analysis methods to extract and calculate distinguishing features would be time consuming and challenging, so we sought to automate this task by using convolutional neural networks (CNNs) pretrained on the ImageNet database to take advantage of its automated feature discovery and extraction. We compared three model architectures on this dataset and found the one with highest overall accuracy, 99.17%, was a novel hybrid architecture, one in which we removed the final decision-making layer of the deep learner and replaced it with an ensemble of decision trees (EDT). This combines the power of feature extraction by CNNs with the decision-making strength of EDT. The accuracy of the hybrid architecture over the deep learning alone is shown to be significantly improved. Furthermore, we applied this novel hybrid architecture to an entirely different dataset, one containing images of repaired damage sites, and improved on the previously published findings, also with a demonstrably significant increase in accuracy over using the deep learner alone.

    摘要: One critical issue, for a wireless sensor network (WSN) to operate successfully, is to provide sufficient sensing coverage. Define the smart sensing environment as a sensing system with the capability to sense the environment and respond properly in an automated manner. In this paper, we target on smart sensing environments and deal with heterogeneous sensors (here sensor heterogeneity is defined as sensors having different sensing ranges) equipped with actuation facilities to assist in the sensor self-deployment. A coverage-aware sensor automation (CASA) protocol is proposed to realize an automated smart monitoring network. Two centralized algorithms are included in the CASA protocol suite: enhanced virtual forces algorithm with boundary forces (EVFA-B) and sensor self-organizing algorithm (SSOA). Unlike most previous works that tackle the deployment problem only partially, we intend to address the problem from both global deployment (EVFA-B) and local repairing (SSOA) perspectives. The EVFA-B protocol exerts weighted attractive and repulsive forces on each sensor based on predefined distance thresholds. Resultant forces then guide the sensors to their suitable positions with the objective of enhancing the sensing coverage (after a possibly random placement of sensors). Furthermore, in the presence of sensor energy depletions and/or unexpected failures, our SSOA algorithm is activated to perform local repair by repositioning sensors around the sensing void (uncovered area). This capability of local recovery is advantageous in terms of saving the communication and moving energies. Performance of the proposed sensor deployment strategies is evaluated in terms of surveillance coverage, monitoring density, network self-healing competence, and moving energy consumption. We also implement our CASA protocol suite in a real-life monitoring network (MoNet) to demonstrate the protocol feasibility and validate the MoNet detection capability of emergency events.

    摘要: A novel algorithm is presented in this paper for solder paste inspection. The proposed methodology is based on a specially designed directional LED lighting to highlight the geometrical features of the solder paste block. Solder paste inspection and shape reconstruction are then carried out based on the highlighted shape features. An algorithm for 3D reconstruction of solder paste is developed. The process is carried out by calculating a set of surface heights for the solder paste block. The estimated shape of the solder paste block is represented by the calculated set of surface heights. To improve the accuracy of the estimation, parameter optimization has been carried out to search for an optimal set of algorithm parameters using the actual solder paste shape.

  • Accelerator for Ultrafast Laser Serial Production

    摘要: The world of serial applications has long been denied the possibility of ablation processes with ultrafast pulsed laser radiation due to high investment costs and low ablation rates. Nowadays, process scaling with advanced beam shaping technologies make use of the available high laser powers and therefore opens up possibilities for serial processing of individual components. But the exclusive focus on the main time of laser processing is not enough for a production system. Only the combined operation of handling systems, measurement technology, and process automation allow the ultrafast laser technology to spread further into volume markets.
