1:Experimental Design and Method Selection
The experiment involved the fabrication of a Bi2Se3 SA via the optical deposition method and its incorporation into an Erbium-doped fiber laser (EDFL) cavity to generate Q-switched and mode-locked pulses.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources
Bi2Se3 was dissolved in isopropyl alcohol, stirred, and ultrasonicated to form a composite. The SA was then deposited on a fiber pigtail.

1480 nm laser diode (LD), wavelength division multiplexer (WDM), polarization controller (PC), isolator, 95:5 coupler, optical spectrum analyzer (OSA-Yokogawa AQ6370B), oscilloscope (Tektronix TDS3052C), photodetector (Thorlab DET01CFC), and Alnair intensity based autocorrelator.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow
The EDFL was pumped by a 1480 nm LD via a WDM. The SA was incorporated into the cavity, and the output was analyzed using OSA, oscilloscope, and RF spectrum analyzer. For mode-locking, an additional 5 m SMF was inserted into the cavity.
5:Data Analysis Methods
The pulse characteristics were analyzed using the oscilloscope and autocorrelator. The stability and noise levels were assessed using the RF spectrum analyzer.
