The study demonstrates that ordered langasites, especially LGSn:Eu3+, show promising internal quantum efficiencies and thermal stability for application as red-emitting LED phosphors. However, the narrow excitation peaks and forbidden transitions of Eu3+ limit their conversion efficiency in standard LED applications.

The study is limited by the narrow spectral shape of the 4f-4f transitions of Eu3+, which affects the conversion efficiency in LED applications. Additionally, the high dopant concentration (20%) without concentration quenching is unusual and may not be generalizable to other systems.
