Seeds were soaked in distilled water for 3 days, sown and germinated in petri dishes with wet filter papers in the dark condition, then moved to soil and grown under 16 h light/8 h dark conditions with irradiation of the LED light.

AsA content was analyzed by HPLC. The expression levels of genes related to the AsA biosynthetic and recycling pathways were examined by quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR).
