研究目的
To determine the efficacy of cataract surgery alone and combined with two minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) procedures (phaco-ELT and phaco-aiT) in lowering intraocular pressure (IOP) and reducing hypotensive medication.
研究成果
Combined phaco and MIGS procedures (phaco-ELT and phaco-aiT) are more effective in lowering IOP and reducing medication than phaco alone. Phaco-ELT showed superior efficacy over phaco-aiT in long-term success, possibly due to its nonthermal approach. These procedures are suitable for eyes with glaucoma or ocular hypertension undergoing cataract surgery, especially when target IOP in the mid-teens is sufficient.
研究不足
Retrospective, non-randomized study design may introduce bias. Differences in baseline IOP among groups. Lack of washout IOP measurements at baseline and final visit. No functional or structural data on glaucoma stage.
