研究目的
To compare the thermal effects of Ho:YAG and Tm-fiber lasers during lithotripsy in an in-vitro model via real-time temperature measurement.
研究成果
SP TFL and Ho:YAG lasers are not different in terms of temperature increase, if the same laser settings (average power, pulse energy, and exposure duration) are applied. Due to reduced jet streaming ability of SP TFL vs Ho:YAG laser, local temperatures close to the fiber tip may differ, with Ho:YAG laser causing faster water mixing. However, these differences are rapidly eliminated due to heat diffusion and water convection and further negated by irrigation and fiber movement.
研究不足
Incomplete simulation of actual laser lithotripsy conditions in a urinary tract like those in previously described ex-vivo or in-vivo porcine models. Use of a single regimen may also be considered as a limitation.
