研究目的
To introduce optical interferometers based on fiber-optic technology and their practical applications in the electric power industry for monitoring of the power system’s running states, as well as for measuring of some crucial physical parameters.
研究成果
Fiber-optic interferometers, leveraging the precision of optical interferometry and the unique features of optical fibers, offer high sensitivity and accuracy in detecting various physical parameters. The demonstrated sensors show promise for applications in the power industry, particularly in monitoring equipment failures and measuring electric field strength. However, further research is needed to address the influence of fiber properties on sensor performance and to develop practical packaging solutions.
研究不足
The chapter does not extensively cover the impact of optical fiber properties such as birefringence, temperature dependency, dispersion, and nonlinearity on the performance of fiber interferometer sensors. Additionally, the practical packaging of these sensors for real-world applications is mentioned as a challenging work in progress.
