Total-Ionizing-Dose Response of MoS2 Transistors with ZrO2 and h-BN Gate Dielectrics
摘要: The total-ionizing-dose response of few-layer MoS2 transistors with ZrO2 or h-BN gate dielectrics is investigated under various bias conditions. Defects in MoS2 and surrounding dielectric layers significantly affect radiation-induced trapping. For devices with ZrO2 dielectrics, much larger negative Vth shifts and peak transconductance degradation are observed for irradiation under negative and ground bias than under positive bias. h-BN devices exhibit positive threshold voltage shifts under negative-bias irradiation. For both ZrO2 and h-BN passivated devices, the peak transconductance degradation results from charge trapping at the surface of the MoS2 or in nearby oxides. Changes in defect energy distributions of MoS2 FETs during X-ray irradiation are characterized via temperature-dependent low-frequency noise measurements. Density functional theory calculations are performed to provide insight into the pertinent defects.

摘要: Noise is a random signal that usually arises during preprocessing, acquisition, faulty storage that distorts the original information of the image. Image can be deteriorated by various kinds of noises. In our work, we are proposing both the unimodal and multimodal biometric verification system adopting hand-based traits and we are also analyzing the robustness of the deployed system by adding salt and pepper noise that takes either maximum or minimum grey values. The experimentation is performed on multimodal pre- classification and post classification techniques and the verification results are standard tabulated threshold values at 0.01%, 0.1%, 1%.

摘要: This paper describes a low phase noise and low spurious frequency synthesizer based on DDS (Direct Digital Synthesis)–PLL (Phase-Locked Loop)–MIX (Mixer) architecture. The architecture combines the advantages of both DDS and PLL, In order to achieve a good performance at phase noise and spurious, a mixer has been introduced. According to this structure, an excellent performance X-Band LFMCW (9.6GHz~9.9GHz) frequency synthesizer with low phase noise (>-115dBc/Hz@10KHz), low spurious in narrow band SFDR (>-90dBc), linearity 8.76E-5 is developed. Using this architecture, the phase noise of X band signal can be better than -125dBc/Hz@10KHz

Estimating the Influence of Quantum Noises on the Quality of Material Identification by the Dual-Energy Method
摘要: A mathematical model has been developed to describe the radiation transparency of a test object with allowance for quantum noise. The technique of estimating the effective atomic number of the test object by the dual-energy method has been improved based on the analysis of radiation transparency with regard to necessary restrictions and recommendations. An algorithm is presented for the statistical evaluation of the influence of quantum noises on the quality of test-object material identification by the dual-energy method. An example is given of using the algorithm in a baggage and carry-on inspection system that has the maximum X-ray energies of 80 and 160 keV and is equipped with total-absorption detectors.

An effective image denoising using PPCA and classification of CT images using artificial neural networks
摘要: The main aim of denoising is to remove the noise while recollecting as much possible important signal features. This appears to be very simple when considered under practical situations, where the type of images and noises are all variable parameters. This paper deals with removal of combination of noises from image and classification of normal and abnormal images. At first phase, median filter is used to remove the noises present in the images. To improve the denoised output, we are using PSM and PPCA with morphological operations, filter and region props. In the second phase, to analyse the denoised output, neural network-based classification is proposed. The use of artificial intelligent techniques for classification shows a great potential in this field. Hence the performance of neural network classifier is estimated in terms of training performance and classification accuracy and is compared with the existing method to show the system is effective.

An upgraded interferometer-polarimeter system for broadband fluctuation measurements
摘要: Measuring high-frequency fluctuations (above tearing mode frequencies) is important for diagnosing instabilities and transport phenomena. The Madison Symmetric Torus interferometer-polarimeter system has been upgraded to utilize improved planar-diode mixer technology. The new mixers reduce phase noise and allow more sensitive measurements of fluctuations at high frequency. Typical polarimeter rms phase noise values of 0.05°–0.07° are obtained with 400 kHz bandwidth. The low phase noise enables the resolution of fluctuations up to 250 kHz for polarimetry and 600 kHz for interferometry. The importance of probe beam alignment for polarimetry is also verified; previously reported tolerances of ≤0.1 mm displacement for equilibrium and tearing mode measurements minimize contamination due to spatial misalignment to within acceptable levels for chords near the magnetic axis.
