    摘要: Fluke zener reference standards were designed to operate under constant power, whether it is from line power or from the batteries. Fluke has a published specification associated with the loss of power to the device under laboratory conditions for up to 24 hours (Retrace). Fluke has performed research and development on a new generation of Zener Reference standards, and as part of the research, experiments were conducted to quantify the uncertainty associated with removing power to the units for extended periods of time. The results of the experiment are presented, with interpretation of the data.

    摘要: The measurements capacitance-voltage characteristics and capacitance kinetics were applied for investigation of physical principle of sensor response in the ITO – nanostructured titanium dioxide heterojunction. The studies were fulfilled for ethanol, acetone and water vapor under various frequencies of probing signal. It was shown that processes of surface states recharging are making the most significant contribution to the total capacitance of the studied heterojunction and playing a major role in forming of sensor response to the molecules of the used analytes.

  • Numerical investigation of electrowetting-based droplet splitting in closed digital microfluidic system: Dynamics, mode, and satellite droplet

    摘要: In this paper, the splitting of microdroplet in a closed electrowetting-based digital microfluidic system has been studied via a numerical model. The governing equations for the fluid flow are solved by a finite volume formulation with a two-step projection method on a fixed computational domain. The free surface of the liquid is tracked by a coupled level-set and volume-of-fluid method, with the surface tension at the free surface computed by continuum surface force scheme. Contact angle hysteresis is implemented as an essential component of electrowetting modeling, and a simplified viscous force model is adopted to evaluate the viscous stress based on the Hele-Shaw model. Excellent agreement has been achieved between the numerical and published experimental results. A parametric study has been performed in which the effects of viscous stress, channel height, static contact angles, contact angle hysteresis, and electrode size on the splitting process have been analyzed. Three distinct splitting modes, which are “splitting with satellite droplet,” “normal splitting,” and “splitting cessation,” have been discussed. Based on the competition between the curvature in the z-direction (κz) and that on the x-y plane (κxy), the physical mechanism that separates the splitting into these three modes has been revealed. More importantly, a dimensionless parameter ?κ has been proposed, which can be used for (a) determining the splitting mode and (b) estimating satellite droplet volume for electrowetting-induced droplet splitting process.

  • Hysteresis-Free Hexagonal Boron Nitride Encapsulated 2D Semiconductor Transistors, NMOS and CMOS Inverters

    摘要: Graphene and subsequently discovered layered semiconducting transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) exhibit numerous exotic physical properties and broad potential device applications. These 2D semiconducting TMDCs have become particularly interesting in next-generation electronic device applications due to their atomic thickness and nonzero bandgap. However, as there is no bulk volume, the 2D nature makes the electronic transport in these crystals highly sensitive to the environmental conditions, such as humidity, adsorbates, and trapped charges in neighboring dielectrics. Due to this environmental sensitivity, 2D-based circuits and devices suffer from a large and undesirable environment-induced hysteresis, which must be eliminated for reliable operation and computation. By mechanically assembling van der Waals (vdWs) heterostructures and edge-contacted graphite electrodes, the 2D semiconducting channel is sealed completely and protected. Here, hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) encapsulated high-performance, hysteresis-free 2D semiconductor transistors, n-type metal-oxide semiconductor, and complementary metal-oxide semiconductor inverters are fabricated. The hBN encapsulation provides excellent protection of semiconducting n-MoS2 and p-WSe2 from environmental factors, resulting in hysteresis-free 2D electronics characteristics that are necessary for the realization of 2D electronics and computing.

  • A Modeling Method of Electromagnetic Micromirror in Random Noisy Environment

    摘要: In this paper, a data-driven modeling method for electromagnetically actuated micromirror in random noisy environment is proposed. In this method, the electromagnetic micromirror is considered as a dynamic system with preceded hysteresis. Then, a linear dynamic submodel is used to describe the angular deflection mechanism, while a preceded rate-dependent hysteresis submodel is used to depict the hysteresis phenomenon inherent in the electromagnetic driver. By considering the influence of random noise on the micromirror, an on-line modeling scheme with varying weighting factors is studied to handle the data contaminated by random noises. Subsequently, the convergence of proposed modeling method is analyzed. Finally, the experimental results of the proposed modeling scheme for an electromagnetically actuated micromirror are presented.

  • Energy conversion from environmental fluctuations to coherent fields by Cooper-pair box quantum meta-materials

    摘要: Electromagnetic waves propagating in open Cooper-Pair Boxes (CPBs) system is studied by using Maxwell-Bloch equations and Lindblad master equation. The results demonstrate an ensemble of CPBs as highly non-linear meta-material for electromagnetic waves. Incorporating the CPBs in a ring resonator or a Fabry-Perot cavity, one finds that: (1) With weak environmental couplings and CPBs in superconducting phase dominant regime, the non-linearity is enhanced and the system exhibits regular optical hysteresis. (2) With finite environmental couplings and CPBs in charge dominant regime, the Josephson effect and environmental effect can constructively interplay to produce a gain. In the later case, the electromagnetic field would be amplified by the CPB medium, indicating energy conversion from the environment to coherent fields mediated by CPBs.

  • Estimation of state of charge of lithium-ion battery based on photovoltaic generation energy storage system

    摘要: The fast and accurate estimation of state of charge (SOC) of lithium-ion battery is one of the key technologies of battery management system. In view of this nonlinear dynamic system of lithium battery, through the test and analysis of lithium-ion battery hysteresis characteristics, the second-order RC hysteresis model is established, and the cubature Kalman filter algorithm is used to estimate the battery state of charge in this report. The experiment results show that the battery model can essentially predict the dynamic hysteresis voltage behavior of the lithium-ion battery and cubature Kalman Filtering algorithm can maintain high accuracy in the estimation process.

  • Effects of parasitic capacitance on both static and dynamic electrical characteristics of back-gated two-dimensional semiconductor negative-capacitance field-effect transistors

    摘要: Negative-capacitance ?eld-e?ect transistors (NC-FETs) are a promising candidate for future low-power Internet of Things (IoT) applications. In this work, a uni?ed analytical drain-current model for back-gated two-dimensional (2D) NC-FETs has been proposed for both static and dynamic is calibrated to experimental data. E?ects of parasitic capacitance on both the static and dynamic electrical simulations, and this model characteristics of back-gated 2D NC-FETs are investigated systematically on the basis of the model. It is found that parasitic capacitance contributes to the reduction in subthreshold swing but leads to a larger dynamic hysteresis. Thus, a balance between both should be carefully taken into account.

  • Development and calibration of a MFM-based system for local hysteresis loops measurements

    摘要: A measurement technique derived from a field-dependent magnetic force microscope (MFM) is presented for the measurement of local hysteresis loops on patterned micrometric and sub-micrometric magnetic structures. The technique exploits the synchronisation of the applied field variations with the end-of-line signal of the microscope, while keeping the slow scan axis disabled. In this way, a single MFM image contains the whole field evolution of the magnetisation processes in the sample along a user-defined profile. An analysis procedure is presented for the subsequent determination of local hysteresis loops on magnetic dots. The system has been calibrated for what concerns the applied field values. No significant artifacts induced in the measurements by the applied field have been observed up to applied fields of ≈ 1000 Oe.

  • Constitutive modeling of polarization relaxation behavior in ferroelectrics

    摘要: A thermodynamically consistent model is formulated to depict the polarization hysteresis and the rate-dependent behavior of relaxation in ferroelectric materials. On the relaxation condition, the polarization gradually changes with time while the applied electric field is kept constant. The present model introduces internal state variables to represent such irreversible dissipation processes. Based on the first and second laws of thermodynamics, the evolution laws of the internal state variables consisting of constitutive equations are then derived through the definitions of the Helmholtz free energy and a dissipation potential. To verify the applicability of the constitutive model, numerical simulations are compared with experiment in the literature.
